The Fitzgerald of Palisades was pleased to host Hana Sharif, Artistic Director of Arena Stage, for its Red Carpet Speaker Series. The event, held at Arena Stage, featured an engaging fireside chat between Sharif and Great Day Washington Co-host, Elaine Espinola. The two discussed a range of topics from how involvement in the arts supports cognitive health and emotional well-being to the vital role theater plays in shaping communities. Sharif also opened up about the highs and lows of her remarkable career, from co-founding a theater at her alma mater, Spelman College, to becoming the first Black artistic director of Arena Stage. She closed the conversation by sharing how she maintains her mental health and offering thoughtful insight on living with purpose and intention.

Before the discussion, guests walked the red carpet and posed for photos, while members of The Fitzgerald team, Courtney Melendez and Tiffany Green, shared more about the community’s premium features, amenities, and exclusive partnerships. Local businesses and artists elevated the event, including harpist Diana Marie Gibbs, who set the ambiance with beautiful live music. Guests enjoyed dessert bites from RSVP Catering and left with a giveaway bag featuring a snake plant from the community’s floral partner Flowers by Alexes.

Since the event, Arena Stage has become one of The Fitzgerald’s long-term partners, offering members exclusive access to classes, backstage tours, and tickets to upcoming shows. The Red Carpet Speaker Series is just one example of the exceptional offerings available to members. The Fitzgerald continues to create meaningful moments that celebrate art, community, and intentional living. Experience a taste of life at The Fitzgerald and check out our unforgettable events.
