In celebration of Senior Health and Fitness Day, The Fitzgerald of Palisades is proud to host a community-wide event dedicated to promoting lifelong wellness. Attendees will enjoy exercise classes, nutrition education, and community engagement. Health and Wellness partner, MovementX, which offers tailored physical therapy to address conditions such as lower back pain, Parkinson’s disease, and balance issues, will attend the event and give information about their services.

The Fitzgerald is dedicated to prioritizing the health and wellness of our members. Whether it’s the community’s state-of-the-art fitness center or programs collaborating with wellness community partners, members are provided with the tools they need to stay active, engaged, and well.

Exercise and physical activity can have a multitude of benefits for a senior’s overall health and wellness. However, barriers such as chronic pain, balance concerns, or mobility limitations can make it challenging to stay active. For this reason, it is important to empower seniors by tailoring exercises to their needs and mobilities. Low-impact and accessible activities, such as chair exercises, walking, tai chi, and yoga, are offered at The Fitzgerald making staying active enjoyable and sustainable.

Physical activity plays a vital role in both mental and physical health for older adults. Regular movement can improve strength, balance, and flexibility while also supporting memory, cognitive function, and emotional well-being. Exercise has been shown to lower the risk of depression, anxiety, and even dementia. It also opens doors for social connection, which is essential for overall wellness.
